OK Maddad, you showed yours and want to see everyone else's.
My first picture is what my back currently looks like. The next two are the individual tattoos. I started my lower back with the butterfly a couple months after my 3 year old was born. The butterfly was chosen because as a kid I loved trying to catch them. The body of the butterfly is an Ankh which represents eternal life. Kind of funny now that I think about it, tattoos are forever. The flowers are suppose to be their birth month flowers, but my artist worked it so they would be close to a Lily of the Valley and a Chrysanthemum.
The picture of my upper back has four different tattoos combined. My husband told me I wasn't getting anymore for a long time so I compromised a little. The bird is a Phoenix and represents rebirth. Having my kids has made me a completely different person, so a kind of rebirth. The rainbow stars and the moon are because I am a night owl and prefer to go outside to just look at the stars. The rainbow is just because I like how beautiful rainbows are. The "Mi Vida" or My Life is because my kids are my life and it is in Spanish because my children are 1/2 Mexican. The Roman numerals are their birthdays.
So, for clarification the four tattoos are:
1. Phoenix
2. Moon and Stars
3. Rainbow
4. Mi Vida with Roman numerals
I also have a little cross and a little ankh on my bikini line in front. While I am not a big (or even a little) believer in religion, my extended family is. The cross is from a necklace my great aunt gave me for Christmas a year or two after my grandma unexpectedly passed away. I don't usually wear jewelry so when I decided to get a tattoo I made it my first one. The ankh is another religious symbol, but I have been in love with studying Ancient Egypt since I was a kid. Like I said about my butterfly, it represents eternal life. Even though I am not religious, I still hope we get to see our loved who have gone before us when we die. Probably because I don't like the idea of just laying in the ground and nothing to do but be worm food.
